Floral Nursery

My baby fever has been on fireee lately! I have been non stop pinning nurseries on Pinterest. So while I wait for my time for #2 I’ll get my baby fever out productively with a blog post!

I have been OBSESSED with this Gal Meets Glam Garden Party Rug since it came out. I sometimes wake up dreaming about it in a nursery. There’s usually some drool involved. What can I say? I love rugs. And Lulu & Georgia. (Not sponsored just obsessed)

I took this rug and ran with it for this nursery. Everything is bright and sweet and perfect for a little bundle of newborn baby smell (moms you know what I’m talking about)

Feminine Boho Living Room : Get the Look

I have always had a spot in my heart for soft feminine decor and I am always drawn to bohemian elements. Light pastel pinks and blues and rattan just make me happy. I love mixing a little traditional with a little boho and a splash of coastal while keeping it super light and fresh. Shades of blush and washed out blues are so classic and keep a space airy and soft. This look is SO perfect for spring.

Here’s how you can get the look :

This beachy farmhouse feminine boho living room combines the best elements of these decor styles for a classic cozy and polished space that's both casual and polished. #coastaldecor #femininefarmhouse

I started this look with this Caitlin Wilson Rug. For some reason I have always used rugs as a starting point. If you like feminine traditional design you need to check Caitlin Wilson’s website out. I’ve been a fan since I first got into interior design and everything she puts out is just dreamy. (Not sponsored just a genuine fan)

The swinging rattan chair is from Serena and Lily and the shape is beautiful. I love the relaxed vibe they give off and of course the texture is beautiful.

Pottery Barn slip covered sofa is of course a go to basic. A white slip covered sofa is a great base to any kind of design.

Next I had to grab something from Targets Opalhouse collection. Everything is just gorgeous. Especially this blush pillow. I keep gravitating to it. The layered pinks and fringe and texture is so perfect for a laid back boho yet soft look.

Lulu & Georgia is also a go to website for not only furniture and decor but just plain inspiration. The lamp and other two pillows are from their Cupcakes and Cashmere line.

I hope this look gets you inspired for spring!

Tell me, what styles do you gravitate towards?

Easy DIY Kids Room Art Using Things You Probably Already Have

This past month we finally set up our two year olds big boy room! He has slept with us since day one so this was a huge step. I really wanted a gallery wall above his dresser but didn’t want to spend a lot. The only purchase I made was for the letter board at hobby lobby (using my 40% off coupon of course!) and some washi tape. Everything else I had on hand but would be super affordable anyways if you don’t.

The first thing I used was this “you are our greatest adventure” wood sign. This was actually from his first birthday but I thought it’d be great decor for his room! My sister in law helped me make a few signs like this out of a couple pieces of wood I found in our garage and a chalk pen. She has awesome handwriting and I do not. However this sign is one that was actually my handwriting so dont worry if you dont have great calligraphy skills! You can still pull this off by switching to cursive in one row of wording to dress it up a little. Or enlist someone with good handwriting to help! I didn’t stain my piece of wood because it already had a good color to it but you may want to stain yours.

If you don’t want to spend a lot on stain what you can do is get a brown acrylic paint that you like (they usually have them at craft stores for around a dollar) and add a little bit of the paint to about a cup of water and just rub it on with a washcloth . Then just let it dry and get to writing! You could also of course use stain that you already have around the house or leave the wood the way it is. You can find pieces of wood at craft and home improvement stores. Look for a a very thin piece to keep the cost down and make it easier to hang on the wall.

Next up is the framed buffalo check fabric. Super super easy and probably took less than 5 minutes. All you need is some printed fabric you like. I happened to have this saved from his first birthday party but you could use any fabric. A small piece of fabric will not run you much at the craft store. If you really wanted to keep costs down I would suggest looking through your child’s old onesies and blankets and find something with a print that you really like and that maybe even has some sentimental value(that you dont mind cutting up of course!) It’s literally as easy as popping the fabric into a frame. I had this frame laying around but a dollar store one would work just fine!

Next I scoured some old kids books for a print I liked. Savers sells 4 kids books for $1 or you can just look through books you already have. I suggest looking for pages with a white background or something that isn’t to busy. This book happened to be a poem book and even the pages with no pictures and just the poems would have been really cute! Just tape on the wall with some washi tape you like and bam your done!

The canvas painting was done by my son. He really loves to paint so I wanted to incorporate some of his own artwork. I just bought a canvas that would fit well and gave him paint colors that would coordinate with his room and let him do his work.

I really wanted a letter board and grabbed one at hobby lobby with a 40% off coupon. I love the dark green. This was the only actual purchase I made. You can find it here or a similar one here.

I hope this inspires you to look around your house for things you already have to decorate! What are some diys you’ve done in your kids room? I’m always looking for ideas! Tell me in the comments below
